Time is a tricky concept, you could’ve sworn when you looked at the clock you had more time. But alas, you don’t, so here’s 5 essential time management tips for any architect!
Start by making choices about what to do and what not to do. This is easier said than done, especially if someone wants something done by yesterday and there’s little to no time left. However, set yourself expectations and always be consistent. This will give you better control and you’ll start to fall into a rhythm.
Turn off any social media notifications, close any irrelevant tabs and turn your phone to silent. Among the sleeps and the vibrations you tend to get lost and before you know it, you’ve spent an hour watching a puppy yawn.
Set a time for yourself and use this slot to check any emails or messages you may have – it’s easy to get distracted but once you get into a routine, you’ll be on your way.
Don’t try and do too many things at once otherwise your brain will fry and you won’t be able to do anything but bang your head against the table. Studies have even proven that doing two things at once takes longer than just doing one.
Plan your Week
Make a list of everything you need to do and keep a diary and a calendar. Make sure that you check it every day and highlight anything important. This way you will be able to stay on top of everything and remember all that you have to do.
Take a Break
Nobody ever gets everything done in one day, believe me. So, it’s best to take regular breaks and make sure to eat and drink something do you’re not running on an empty stomach and an empty brain!
